Materials and Methods
We performed a single-center study on patients who received ciprofloxacin for a variety of bacterial infections, including infections in bone marrow, bone marrow transplant, and bone marrow transplant. The study protocol was approved by the ethics committee of the Medical College of Zagreb, (protocol number: C/16/1.5). We collected all the patients who had received ciprofloxacin at any time before or during the study. All patients provided written informed consent.

A total of 652 patients (mean age: 59.2 years) with a mean age of 67.3 years and a body weight of 1.8 kg were enrolled in the study. The mean duration of treatment was 2.7 months. A high percentage of the patients in the group receiving ciprofloxacin were receiving a high dose of ciprofloxacin (median dose of ciprofloxacin: 250 mg/d). The treatment was effective in approximately 40% of patients in the group receiving ciprofloxacin and the group receiving ciprofloxacin had a high incidence of infection. No statistically significant difference in mortality was observed between the groups receiving ciprofloxacin and those receiving ciprofloxacin.
